A Matter Of Trust

Being from Illinois, I’m not really shocked about the Governor trying to sell the senate seat. Chicago politics have always been a bit shady. To me, it’s just par for the course. Everyone knows that the Daly’s have always run that town.
What gets me is Obama’s response to this incident. I think they should rename him “Teflon”! Now, I can understand that maybe he wouldn’t know about one of his friends being dishonest. Most of us probably have come across that situation in their lifetime. But to be associated with at least five people of questionable character and not be aware of it is unthinkable!
Is this person that has been elected our next president, so naïve that he doesn’t even know who his friends are? Two of them are known terrorists, one is a preacher spewing hate, his realtor will probably be going to jail and then there’s the Governor. How can he be that unaware?
If he truly wasn’t aware of their character then I question his judgment.  This means that I question his choices for the new cabinet. A good portion of them are from the Clinton camp and his Security Chief is one of his buddies from Chicago.
Personally, I can’t trust a president that is this naïve! Why would anyone want a president that has such poor judgment? How can we trust any of his decisions? But if he did know what his friends were, then, maybe he’s just as crooked as they are. You know the old adage “birds of a feather flock together”.
I listened to the tape that they had of the Governor cursing. He didn’t sound like a sociopath…he sounded like someone who was promised something and then didn’t get it! Makes you wonder, huh? His back wasn’t getting scratched and he was MAD!
If this is how Obama picks his associates and friends he has really bad judgment and I can’t trust him to make good decisions for our country. His excuses for all of these incidents are getting pretty tired to hear, too. And it is beyond my understanding how all of these things just roll right off of him. He’s not Abraham Lincoln, Moses or the Messiah! He is very capable of lying just like everyone else in the world. Are we so desperate for change that we are blind to everything else? I hope not.

A Message From God?

by J. Coulter

I was appalled when I heard about the man killed at Walmart on Black Friday, as I’m sure many of you were also. How can anything be more important than helping a fellow human being when you see a desperate need? Are we so callous that we cannot feel any empathy at all? It is beyond me how anyone could just walk over the top of someone without reaching down to help them up.

Then, about five days later, I see this video on the news:

I was astounded by this act of kindness! These dogs did not even know each other and yet, he risked his life to help the other dog! This is not a normal act for a dog. It was plain to see that the dog was terrified. Sure, Lassie did these types of rescues, but she did it on command from her trainer…not as an individual thought of her own. What this dog did was awesome!

I believe that it is no coincidence that this happened right after the tragedy at Walmart. I think God is sending a message to all of us. This dog has more common sense than we do. God must be saying to us:

“Shame on you! I have sent this dog to show you the proper response to someone in dire need.”

Have we become so unfeeling that God has to remind us with one of his creatures that this is the way to behave? I hope not. But I truly believe God is sending us a very clear message. And, by the way, both dogs survived the ordeal. I would like their owners to know that that dog is a true hero and I would be very disappointed if he didn’t receive recognition for his heroism!

Once again, shame on you if you was one of those people at Walmart who saw this man in need.

Requirements For Running For Office

It has come to my attention lately that our government needs a reality check. Most of the senators, congressmen, etc… and, yes, even the President, are under the false impression that their jobs are secure. That’s kind of funny to me because, the last time I read the Constitution, I walked away with the impression that they worked for us.

It’s easy to sit on the hill and magnanimously say “we know what you’re going through; we feel your pain”. I say, “You don’t have a clue what we’re going through! Not until you have walked in our shoes.” You don’t spend your day wondering how you will pay your bills, or where will you live, or will your children eat today? And the biggest question is “will I ever find a job”?

So I propose the following:

  1. Anyone who wants to hold public office must (as a requirement) spend one year with an income of $25,000 for the entire year.
  2. During this year, you must rent a home that is within your budget.
  3. You have to use either public transportation or find a cheap car to drive.
  4. You will carry a credit score of 350 (caused by job losses which forced loan defaults).
  5. No government aid because you don’t qualify for anything.
  6. You must work only blue collar jobs (if you can find a job at all).
  7. You get absolutely no help from family or friends!
  8. And you have no savings at all.

Once you go through this year of hell, then you might have an inkling of what life is like for most Americans; the ones who pay your wages, and yet, we don’t receive any perks. This struggle goes on year after year for most people.

Quite frankly, I don’t think people remember that they can fire politicians. It’s supposed to be “by the people…for the people”; not “by the politicians…for the politicians”. Wake up America! If they’re not doing their job… FIRE THEM! See how fast they start worrying about pleasing the public instead of themselves.
